Adopt an Athlete. Change a Life.

Adopt a Delegation. Transform a Community.

Help bring athletes from disadvantaged communities to the Games

Sending athletes to the Maccabiah Games is a tremendous investment in the Jewish future. Sending athletes to the Games from places such as Cuba, India, Venezuela and Moldova is even more vital because it helps to strengthen and sustain these remote Jewish communities.

For most athletes, it is their first trip to Israel and they return to their communities as energized ambassadors for Israel and the global Jewish family. As one athlete put it:

“Maccabi is the first stake in the ground for unaffiliated Jews to become avid Zionists.  Solidifying Israel’s reason for being is a phenomenal outcome of being associated with Maccabi.”

Scholarship Opportunities

Maccabi World Union would like to bring any athlete who qualifies to the games, regardless of income, including 400 athletes from financially disadvantaged communities.

Scholarships of $5,000 each will enable athletes to fulfill their dreams and have a transformative, once-in-a-lifetime Jewish experience in Israel. It is possible to adopt an entire delegation and it is possible to adopt individual athletes.

The 400 athletes will come from these countries:

  • Azerbaijan
  • Bulgaria
